CSL Behring is pleased to announce the appointment of Mai Viholm as General Manager and Site Head at the company’s Bern manufacturing site, effective 1 July, 2024. Viholm will be succeeding Livia Artuso, who departed from the company in March.
Since January, Viholm has served as Head of Global Quality for CSL Behring, based in Bern. She joined CSL in September 2020 as Executive Director of Quality Systems & Compliance for CSL Behring. Over the past four years, Viholm has played a crucial role in leading various key initiatives and managing Quality operations for CSL Behring.
Viholm brings over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held progressive positions in Quality. Her extensive background includes senior strategic global leadership roles and significant experience working with regulators worldwide. Viholm's international experience spans Denmark, Australia, and Switzerland. Prior to joining CSL, she was part of Quality Operations at LEO Pharma.
Regarding her new role, Viholm stated, “I am excited to lead the talented team at CSL Behring’s Bern site. Together with local as well as global colleagues, we will continue to advance our mission of delivering high-quality biotherapeutics and making a meaningful impact on patients’ lives worldwide.”
Viholm holds a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science from the Royal Danish School of Pharmacy. Born and raised in Odense, Denmark, she has resided in Bern, Switzerland, with her two daughters and husband since 2020.
