Our future will be shaped by the experts of tomorrow. That’s why we at CSL Behring take on apprentices in at least seven different professions every year – with 32 currently training with us. At this year’s "BAM" vocational training fair, our apprentices will be available from September 9 to 13 to answer questions about what it’s like to do an apprenticeship at CSL Behring. In a series of short interviews, we asked several of our apprentices what they like about their apprenticeships at CSL Behring.
Robin Götschmann, apprentice polymechanic studying for the Swiss federal VET diploma (EFZ)
“As part of the EFZ, we make sorting controls ourselves and sell them throughout Switzerland. In the third year of my apprenticeship, I was allowed to take on a project management role in an interdisciplinary team. I really enjoyed that; it’s great to be able to take the lead and have some responsibility for a change.”
Melina Gunziger, EFZ apprentice laboratory technician specializing in chemistry
“As a lab technician, the training is very varied and you never end up doing the same thing. At CSL Behring, we have the advantage of having our own teaching laboratory, where we learn the basics of lab work – and are also allowed to make mistakes. After all, as we all know, it’s from our mistakes that we learn the most.”
Sven Schüpbach, EFZ apprentice computer scientist specializing in systems engineering
“I feel very comfortable at CSL Behring, and I especially like the friendly and welcoming atmosphere among the employees. As part of my apprenticeship, I get to be involved in various projects, work in the computer centers, provide support for employees and maintain the IT systems.”
Sonja Courtet, EFZ apprentice plant manager
“Through my apprenticeship, I have learned a lot about our operations and how we produce our medicinal products. By utilizing our technical equipment and acting quickly in the event of breakdowns, we keep a close eye on the process to guarantee a safe end product. I really appreciate that CSL Behring gives us all the tools and opportunities we need to make our apprenticeship a success.”
