New Site Head Bern as of January 2022

Livia Artuso has been appointed site leader at CSL Behring Bern.

CSL Behring today announced the appointment of Livia Artuso to the position of Vice President, Site Leader and Managing Director at the company’s Bern manufacturing location, effective 1 January 2022. Artuso will succeed Martin Schären, who will retire in March of 2022 after 22 years with the company.

Livia Artuso joins CSL Behring from Lonza, where she held a number of senior positions over the past 20 years. Most recently, she was site manager of the microbial biopharma operation in Visp, Valais. Her extensive experience in the biotechnology industry is reflected in a deep expertise in biologics development, manufacturing and portfolio management, a vast experience in partnering with health authorities, global regulatory bodies and audits, and a proven track record in senior operational and personnel leadership positions.  

Born in Valais, she holds an ETH degree in Biochemistry and an MBA in Management and Finance of the HEC University of Lausanne. She will bring her extensive expertise in our industry to further advance the site in Bern as well as CSL Behring as a leading global biotech company. The site in Wankdorf with its more than 1750 employees continues to look to the future with great confidence under Livia Artuso's leadership.
